About

We are a small group of women from a small town listening to the call of God to search the Scriptures, apply them to our lives, and be transformed by the gospel. Our search is driven by the questions we have about how our faith applies to our lives. It is our prayer that the Spirit would guide each of us in our study so that we can bring what He has taught us each individually together as a group to result in a little bit clearer picture of Who God is.

“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect lawthe law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.” James 1:22–25 (ESV)

“For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18 (ESV)

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, ‘The righteous shall live by faith.'” Romans 1:16–17 (ESV)

“His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.” 2 Peter 1:3–4 (ESV)

“Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.” John 17:17 (ESV)

The perfect law… the law of liberty… the word of the cross… the gospel… His precious and very great promises… truth… all of these terms are referring to the Scriptures and the promises within. The Bible, which we believe to be the very Word of God inspired without error by the Spirit of God, is the story of Jesus Christ. Beginning in the Old Testament book of Genesis and ending with the New Testament book of Revelation, the entire Bible points us toward Jesus Christ and the kingdom of God. In the above referenced Scriptures, we have authors named James, Paul, Peter, and John (quoting the prayer of Jesus Himself) describing the power of the Word of God and its message. The Holy Spirit inspired these writings from these different human authors and the Spirit so oversaw this process that, taken together, they present thorough truth about the transforming power of the gospel… the good news of Jesus Christ.

Our group of women, though fallen and not inspired without error, desires to come together in Biblical unity to persevere into the powerful truths of the Word of God. Though we are prone to error, we believe that the Spirit of God will lead us into this truth (John 16:13, 1 Corinthians 2:12-13) and the unity of our small community will hold us accountable to this pursuit, sharing the truths that the Spirit has revealed to us individually to compile a broader picture of the Word made flesh, Jesus Christ.
